- On an unrelated note, for our lady fans out there, how did you and Clementine (Ford) meet?

Clementine and I met very oddly because, normally when it's time for me to go and meet somebody, I go on the prowl and I do my thing like every good-blooded American does. But I was just not interested. I had been single for a year, which was really long for me. My relationship prior to Clementine just broke me. I really needed to cool down and suss things out. So, I had no interest at all. I was kind of being a hermit. I work all the time. I go home. That’s about it. Friends of mine were like, "Come on out. Let's go out." What was the name... Booby Bar?

- Booby Trap.

Booby Trap, thank you. They're like, come on, let's go to Booby Trap. Really? No, I don't think so -because I think I'm just too old to go to places like that. And they're like, just come on, it'll be fun. And I don't drink. Whatever. I'll just go. So, I go. We're sitting in the place. And there's a lot of people there. This girl walked in, and my assistant was with me and she's also my best friend. That’s Shannon. And she was like: "Oh, I love that girl." And I'm like, "Who?" And she’s like: "That girl, she's on The L Word." Oh. Alright. Great. I didn't see a lot of The L Word... yet. And she's like: "I think she's so beautiful."

Whatever. I go about my business. And a friend of mine started talking to her. And I was bored. So I went over there and was like: "What are you guys talking about?" Cause I was just sitting there. I join in the conversation. And we ended up talking for the rest of the evening. I ended up staying a lot longer than I probably would've because we were just talking and everybody else wanted to be there. I was not flirting with her. I was not anything. So, I was like, "Okay, um, well, so it was really nice to meet you." That was it. "Bye."

And then the next morning, my assistant comes in and she's like, "So did you get Clementine's number?" And I was like, "No, I wasn't even thinking that." When she said that, it dawned on me. Oh, wow. I actually had this really great conversation with this girl. She's very beautiful. I wasn't hitting on her, there was no anything... maybe that's what I'm supposed to do. [Laughs] Maybe that's a sign. So, I tracked her down and got her number and emailed her and sent her some music, cause we were talking about music with integrity. So I sent her some songs that I thought were great. And you know, that's kind of how it started.

- How long has it been?

We're on a year and a half now. It took me six months to even call her my girlfriend. It drove her crazy. That again is a first for me. I'm a typical lesbian. I want you moved in after a week and let's get married and talk about having babies. I'm so not that person anymore. It took me six months. And finally, I think I can get an understanding of her. Clementine is amazing, amazing. And I love her. I love her as a friend, I love being around her. We laugh all the time. I think we had one argument and it was totally my fault, but it was so stupid and lame compared to things that I've argued about in the past. She's so easy. She's really talented and funny, and really smart, and extremely sexy, beautiful and just a joy to be around.

- That's awesome.

I think she looks exactly the way she is. She just looks like that kind-hearted spirit. And she is. I think that a year and a half is still new and I look forward to seeing where this goes.
